ok now its going to cost me $550 for a printhead and they try to charge me $880. all from the white ink clog, this stuff is chemically inert. is there something that will break down this white ink as I have some printheads all gummed up
Try filling your lines with cleaning fluid (once a month) for now fill your capping station with it and let it set for 30 min, do a head clean then a nozzle check. Good luck, John
PS Alwayes shake the white daily.
You can try using foam swabs with alcohol to try and break it down. alcohol is the only thing I have found that will break down the ink once it is dried and clogged. You should be doing regular maintenance on your printer as far as cleaning the capping station, wiper and printhead daily, and doing a routine flush to your system once a month, to avoid this issue though. Also putting about 10 drops of cleaning solution in your capping station nightly can help prevent this as well.

forgive my dumb question, but is the capping station where the dampers are? To what area do you syringe the cleaning solution? do you have to lift the damper connection?
HMS " Head Maintenance Solution" is by far the best solution for clogged heads.
It's designed for breaking down water based inks and your best chance at attacking the dried white titanium.
The reason is due to the surfactants that actually leach up into the nozzles and print head cavities.
Dampers are located right above the print head. They are mini-ink tanks to make sure there is enough ink for the print head to pull from at all times. Check out page 16 - .
