Re: Upgrading to white Hard to say no cost. You should already have the RIP... but if you don't, you will need one. Then you are going to have to remove the current CMYK inks in the line. Most manufacturers / distributors suggest that you flush the lines with cleaning fluid first. I am not sure this is a 100% have to do item, but I do think it will be beneficial. Then you have to fill the 4 lines with white ink. To do this process, you are going to need to run some head cleanings to do it properly. This is going to use ink from the CMYK channels that you are keeping in the printer. If you run cleaning fluid through the lines first, then you have the cost of the cleaning fluid as well. The amount of ink and cleaning fluid that you use can vary depending on the number and type of cleanings you do. Also, if you decide to switch back from CMYK+White to Dual CMYK, then you should change out the dampers that had white ink. These are the costs that you should think about when changing your ink setup.
