Default I can print every color but RED. as always. I just get yellow!

I have done my cleaning, a thousand times. All my inks are new. My warm humidifier has been on every day. I have done my purge or whatever it's called. I can print every color but RED. as always. I just get yellow! I have called their number during office hours but got the recording.

Doesn't matter every time I call them anyways they tell me that it needs to be brought in, and every time I have fixed it without bringing it in.

Just seeing if anyone else has this problem and can maybe suggest some help! It's SOOOO FRUSTRATING. The red does this to me all the time. The hose looks fine. Any tricks or suggestions?

I am not sure if you have dampers on your anajet, but if you do I would change out the red damper if you are getting no red flowing. Are you getting a good nozzle check?

Mardiv,

Sorry to hear about your color challenges. I am assuming when you say Red, you are meaning the magenta channel. Is this correct? If so, how does your nozzle check look? Is the entire magenta channel clogged?

BobbieLee is probably going down the correct path to start off. The first thing I would is follow the path of the clogged nozzle and see if you can replace that damper. Dampers are much cheaper than a print head. By replacing the damper, you are going to have to run some head cleans to get the damper primed. A nozzle purge is not going to use the vacuum pump... so I would not try that as it could damage the print head. I am sure that there is a video on Anajet's website on how to do this.

While you are changing the damper, I would check to see if you can draw ink directly from the ink line (i.e. attach a syringe and pull back gently) from the channel that is clogged. This will just verify that you have no blockage or resistance in the line - including in areas that you can't see like the needle part. Since you have mentioned that this problem before, I am going to assume you have changed the magenta cartridge before. If this is incorrect, then you might want to try a different magenta cartridge. There have been people that have reported problems with the ink cartridges developing air pockets in the bladder inside the cartridge that prevents the white tab from coming out and triggering the low ink sensor. The air pocket will also create pressure that will cause ink starvation. Replacing the cartridge and running a power clean will typically resolve this problem until you get another cartridge that has an air pocket.

If the steps above don't work, then it could be the print head. This is the worst case scenario. Anajet does not recommend that their customers change the print head out. So this is probably something that they are going to want you to bring in.

I hope this points you in the right direction. If you have additional questions, post them or send me a PM. Stay positive. Best wishes,

Mark

To get "red" you basically need equal amounts of Yellow and Magenta. IF the Nozzle check is perfect, and you are getting Magenta, you may check how you are sending the art to the printer. The driver is very specific about needing RGB space files. If you are printing out of Corel, or photoshop etc. Make sure your colorspace is correct. If you use Mark's color chart, you can troubleshoot any color shifts accordingly. Are you printing out of EK or direct to the printdriver?
